“You don’t raise heroes, you raise sons.  And if you treat them like sons, they’ll turn out to be heroes, even if it’s just in your own eyes.”

-Walter M. Schirra Sr.-

I had the pleasure of photographing this little guy…just 12 days new. He wasn’t a sleeper, but he was very alert and already full of personality. Thank you Terri and Jesse and congratulations on your new little love!

Gulya and Stephen...and their new little love Sophia.

I had the honor of photographing Gulya and Stephen a few months back when Sophia was all warm and cozy in her mother’s womb.  Gulya was an absolutely radiant expectant mom and the excitement that both Gulya and Stephen had about their impending arrival was obvious.  Sophia arrived earthside last week and I had the chance to photograph her this past weekend.  Oh what to say about Miss Sophia….other than she is gorgeous!  The moment I laid eyes on her, I was smitten. And the way her parents were obviously so in love with her as well, just melted me. There is something extra special about photographing a baby of first time parents. Stephen and Gulya – It was an absolute pleasure to work with the both of you. Both of you are so incredibly sweet and kind. I am honored to have shared in this special time with you guys.  Sophia is beautiful.

Bad Blogger

Boy have I been deliquent on keeping my studio blog updated.  I have been busy photographing other people’s loves and busy loving my own.  I am making it my mission to get some of my recent work on here.  I even managed to feed my artistic soul lately.  Packed up my gear and hit the road by myself…my own little journey.  I hope to share some images soon.

Spring Studio Giveaway!!!

I know there is still over a week until it’s officially spring, but just knowing that it’s lurking right around the corner…it’s making me all giddy! I love Spring. We’ve had an unseasonably cold Winter here in South Texas and I’m anxious to pack away the sweaters, pants, and socks until nex…t winter! So to celebrate and bid adieu to winter, I am offering a fun little giveaway. These mini accordian albums are a great way to show off some of your favorite images from your session. They have 12 custom designed panels and close with a cute magnetic ribbon. Carry it in your purse as a brag book or give it as a gift. All sessions booked between now and April 30th will receive one of these fabulous mini albums.

Sweet Layla Grace

I have been following this little girl’s story for awhile now. She is a 2 year old from Cypress, TX with neuroblastoma. Sadly, she is in her final days. I read her mom’s blog and twitter updates throughout the day, amazed by Layla’s strength, the magnitude of love from her family, and the amazing prayers and support little Layla has gotten from all over the world. I don’t know Layla’s family personally, but my heart is heavy with saddness as if she is one of my own. My friend and fellow photographer, Christie Lacy, opened her heart and photographed Layla and her family. Christie is also offering “Parties for Layla”, with proceeds to go to Layla’s family. If any of my clients in the Houston area have friends in the Cypress area, please share with them this opportunity to help this amazing family and to work with a great photographer. Please see this link for more details. Parties for Layla.

You can read more about little miss Layla Grace in her blog.  Or you can follow her on Twitter.

Pretty little packages...

I was talking with a photographer friend of mine about some of my packaging of products and I took a picture of these bags before they headed out the door in case my other photogs friends out there would like to see  These are for the clients of Gentle Beginnings, located in Corpus Christi.  Inside are a set of custom printed “Thank You” cards that all new moms need, as well as a postcard with their exclusive offer with Reminisce Studios.  I was fortunate to have 2 amazing birth experiences with Beth at Gentle Beginnings, that it only seemed fitting to forge a special business relationship with her and provide exceptional portraiture to her clients.
